Take Snapshot
Snapshots capture the entire state of a virtual machine—including its disk and configuration—at a specific point in time. You can restore or convert snapshots into templates for fast deployment or testing purposes.

🧭 How to Access
You can open the Take Snapshot dialog in two ways:
-
From the Control Center
- Right-click on a virtual machine.
- Select Take Snapshot from the context menu.
-
From the Snapshots Window
- Click the Take Snapshot ➕ icon in the toolbar.
📝 Dialog Options
- Name: Enter a descriptive name for your snapshot.
- Notes: (Optional) Add any details or context for future reference.
Usage
After a snapshot is taken, it will appear in the Snapshots window for that virtual machine. You can:
- Restore it to revert your VM back to this exact state.
- Convert it into a template.
- Manage it just like a regular virtual machine item (tag, favorite, view config).
💡 Snapshots are ideal for preserving known-good states before major software installations, updates, or configuration changes.
