Image Catalog (Linux ISO Download)
When the virtual machine OS is set to Linux, the CD/DVD drive section includes a built-in Image Catalog picker alongside the standard file picker.
- Select Boot ISO: Choose an ISO file from disk, or drag and drop it into the designated area.
- Image Catalog: A dropdown listing popular Linux distributions available for download. Selecting a distribution automatically fills in the path if the ISO is already downloaded.
- Download Button: Appears when the selected catalog entry is not yet downloaded. Click it to fetch the ISO directly into the app's storage folder (requires internet access).
Download Progress
While downloading, a progress bar is shown with:
- Percentage and bytes downloaded (e.g.
42% 1.2 GB / 2.9 GB) - Download speed in MB/s
- Estimated time remaining
- A Cancel button to abort at any time
Downloads are managed by the global download engine — progress is shared with the Image Catalog window and any other views tracking the same file.
💡 The Image Catalog picker is for catalog-based downloads only. If you select your own ISO using the file picker, the picker shows no selection — that is expected behaviour.
For virtual machines with multiple CD drives, each drive manages its own ISO independently.
