CD/DVD Drive

Attach an ISO image or CD/DVD media to the virtual machine.

Fields

Field Description
Image Path Path to the ISO or disc image file.
Interface Bus interface for the drive: USB or VirtIO.

Linux ISO Download

When the virtual machine OS is set to Linux, the CD/DVD drive section includes a built-in download tool in addition to the standard file picker.

  • Select ISO: Use the file selection dialog or drag and drop an ISO file to attach it manually.
  • Select Linux: Choose a Linux distribution from the dropdown list.
  • Download Button: Downloads the ISO for the selected distribution directly into the app's storage folder (requires internet access). If the ISO was previously downloaded, it is reused immediately without re-downloading. To force a re-download, delete the existing file from the app's storage folder.
  • Progress Bar: Shows download progress with a Cancel button to abort at any time.

The download picker is hidden once an ISO is selected or downloaded. For virtual machines with multiple CD drives, each drive manages its own ISO independently.
